We had some of the best people come through here. They need some respect. I was thinking for the first class we place some of the founders of CPW in the Rper hall of fame. That would be Me, Ryan, Anson, and Vic. Do it like around the time the Slammy awards. Just to give some of the "old farts" the respect.

We don't really need this, to be honest. We have the Slammy Awards each year and you can look back through them to see who people voted for/respected each year.

Actually I'm with Krazy partially on this. It would be good to have a hall of fame. Because real wrestling companies do. I would say we award it to the characters that have done the most in CPW though. And I don't just mean wrestling wise. We have some characters as part of backstage management such as Klesko and Eric Slade. So we could give Hall of Famn awards to any character that has made profound impacts on CPW as a company. Axl James Slade would obviously be a first ballet candidate. As well as Solidus Filth and Marcus Filth.

The idea itself isn't necessarily a bad one, and could be done a number of ways.
That said, Krazy, stop fishing.

If something like this is done it should be an IC thing. We already know who the good RPer's are and we already have the slammiess, rper of the month, and the critique forum to honor them. A hall of fame should be to honor influential/memorable/successful characters.

All a Hall of Fame would be is an unnecessary ego boost to some people that either don't need it, or don't deserve it. Krazy, you've spent this entire topic talking about how you should get in and plugging to be a first guy in. It's arrogant, it's classless, and it's an attempt at an ego boost that is fooling nobody.
Don't get me wrong, Krazy...I like you, you've grown on me recently...but suggesting a HoF and being arrogant enough to suggest you should get in immediately just proves my point that it's an unnecessary ego boost.

My ego boost? I am just saying I don't have to be in the first class. There are some people who should be in the forgotten heroes like Prissy, Elliot, Dustin, and the list goes on. If this was to stroke my ego I would of said it already. So, I would love to see the Hall of Fame.

Really...? REALLY?
Yeah...you totally weren't suggesting that you should be in the first class. Right. This totally wasn't to stroke your ego. Except for those 2 posts where it was. Don't come crying foul because people pointed out that all this was was an attempt to stroke your ego. And you shouldn't have to tell us that you don't have to be in the first class for 2 reasons.
1- If you hadn't suggested it (and not even an off-hand suggestion, you blatantly suggested it like we're all stupid and we couldn't tell it was obvious), then this wouldn't have come up. But you did. Twice. And because you got called out on it, you backpedaled.
2- By saying you don't have to be in the first class, you only say this because either A) Someone called you out on your ego stroke or B) You think that OBVIOUSLY you should be in, so by saying "Aaah, I don't need to be in" at this point, what you're really saying is, "Dude. I should be in. I know I should be in. I'll pretend not to be stroking my ego, but you should put me in. Nevermind that I already blatantly said TWICE that I should be in. And did I mention I should be in? By talking about other people that should be in, I'm hoping people will see how humble I am and maybe put me in too."
Oh...and Nate (Elliot) being in whatever HoF you're projecting is lol. Pris is borderline lol as much as I like him. You wanna put people like Anson, Ryan, Joe, Gina, Amos, Eric, Toms, Kanny in...fine. Hell, you wanna put guys like Will, Duke, Stone in for a lot of the contributions they've made in, fine. I can even see putting a guy like Snakey in, but he's borderline because while he does a lot when he's here, it's been a very long time since he's been around, and his contribution to CPW was relatively little compared to a lot of people. But let's not water it down by putting anyone and everyone in, that's already a shitload of people without guys like Pris and Nate.

As I said, this should be IC, because it can add to storylines. As for Krazy you've selfless jobbed your character to countless others and gone a long way to constantly pushing others over yourself. Also, you have been on the wrong end of several historical moments in CPW history. So I'll agree that you deserve a spot in the HoF down the line but promoting yourself is classless and more likely to deture others from aknowledging you so just stop.
Now onto the subject, as I've said this should be done in character because we already have OOC awards and this would really add to the storylines.
Clip argues that the people recieving would most likely not need the extra accolade but I disagree. Let's say Solidus Filth get's awarded a spot in the hall of fame, then some rookie comes in and manages to beat Solidus Filth in a match. That character just got a major push because he not only beat a former XC Champ and the son of the founder, but he also beat a Hall of Famer. It'll provide more reasons for storylines to start. Someone could come after Axl just because he's a hall of famer. This would add a great deal to the creative process so I think it's a good idea.

I just think we're already looking at inducting a ton of people in there, so either people will get in who don't deserve it because people don't like to be left out, or people won't get in who do deserve it. It's just another thing for people to get butthurt over and it's really unnecessary. Cam's IC idea has a bit of merit...but with title histories and such, it seems a little redundant.

Not to mention we've technically had both an IC and an OOC HOF already.. the IC one had, as I recall, Marcus Filth, Dave Helms, Bolt and Aaron inducted into it... but it was so long ago I don't even remember who's shitty idea it was at the time. It was kind of silly to be having a Hall of Fame two years in
I wanna say we had a second induction thing at some point and actually put in Axl and Krazy and somebody else but I'll be damned if I can remember who and when that was.
For a while on the website we had one far people who had contributed a great deal. It was Anson's idea because he wanted more on the site at the time. But, it went away when the site was re-designed because nobody cared and it hadn't been fully filled out anyway because half the people in it couldn't be assed to fill out the whole thing as they were asked to.
Do we NEED one? No, we don't and I'll agree with Will about the cons even if it is a bit rich for Mister Slammy Awards to be crapping on this idea. Could it be used for something cool? Well, sure it COULD but, honestly, how could we really vote on who goes in when a lot of people now wouldn't know who Marcus Filth, Prismatic, Hardcore Jay and the like are?
And the arguments on this would be insane sometimes just based on the names put forth so far and I don't know if we need that kind of shit.
