This wouldn't be a problem if two things happened.
1)Some of the writers stop saying they can do it the day of the show and then don't show up until Sunday to do it. If you couldn't do it on Fridays... don't say you can write. If you can't do one on Friday, don't say you can do three. The same on PPV's, if you can't write on Sundays, don't say you can. If you can't write one, don't say you can do three.
2)People stop expecting to be able to build up a red-hot gimmick match worthy feud in five minutes. I can't even begin to count the number of times that "Wrestler A" has told me they wanna feud "Wrestler B" and then proceeded to inform me they want to be able to do so by the next ppv, which is almost always a week or two away at the time AND they want to be able to have some overdone CZW-style gimmick match right away. It's not gonna happen. Building a ppv match is possible within a week or two but building it the way these people are talking about is just not possible, especially if the only ideas they have are, "we wanna feud."
Now, changing the ppv day is a really stupid idea if the entire idea is to make ppv's feel more special because if you put the ppv on the same day as the regular show.. that's all it is, it's just another show. It'll never feel special because it'll always be, "oh look, another Friday, another show...big deal."
There are a couple of things that are beyond our control that come into play as well.
1)Plans change all the time. We have some seriously indecisive motherfuckers here that tend to make a plan and then change five times before lunch the first week and then do the same as we go on. By the time the ppv has gotten here, it doesn't matter how much or how little time we've had, the feud is not properly built because the very nature of the feud has changed three times.
2)People sometimes have to leave in the middle. It just happens, certain times of year are worse than others but it happens and that can cut a feud too.
3)A lot of people are unwilling to be true faces and heels. People say they want to be a face but then act like heels and refuse to let the other guy get any heat on them. It happens all the time. The same happens with heels wherein they refuse to really do anything superheelish and then wonder why the face they're going against barely cares.
4)The Calendar. Sometimes the way dates fall you just don't get that many weeks in the month. This month fell that way because several of the things mentioned above all happened at once. Next month, it would not be a factor because there would be three weeks regardless, four if the show got up on time.

Man, that was an all-encompassing told Ryan just did.

Man, Ryan... I fully agree. Also, I'd like to point out that in most cases, time is the death of all things. If we had to wait two months for most feuds to get off the ground. They won't make it. I think the issue here is most folks that want a change in PPV don't understand how the PPVs work. There really are only a few that are end all be all shows, Super Brawl is an example. So, don't worry so much about the timing of your feud. If it has to span through two PPVs to finish. So be it. Shoot, I think Will and I(Duke and Tyler) feuded for the first time through four PPVs.

In SW, the ppv was on the same day as the regular show, and it was treated as a ppv. A lot more rps were posted than on a regular show. So the argument that it would make the ppv less meaningful is not a good argument to make.

I'd like to add to what Ryan said. Most of the time when people whine and say "oh I'm have not feud, I can't get a feud, ect." its because they're not actively trying to get one. A lot of people either wait until the staff just happens to book them on one (which rarely happens) or until somebody else approaches them with an idea. If you want a fued, look around, read the shows, find somebody and come up with your own storyline and talk to them. Everybody here can be PMed, and damn near everybody has some form of instant messenger. Also believe it or not PPV's can, and are used to start feuds, so you don't have to have a big match or big twist in your storyline at every PPV just because it's a PPV.
This this, a thousand times this. I know this is just a game an not meant to be taken real seriously but if you say you'll write a match you do have some obligation to write one on time. It's understandable that sometimes shit happens expectantly, thats fine, but like Ryan said, but if you know that odds are you won't get you won't even open up word until Monday for the match you're writing for Sunday's show, don't say you'll write one. This issue is rising mainly because the show's have been late which has caused us to miss shows.
Eh, I agree and disagree. No characters should be completely 100% good or 100% evil, its unrealistic, and can make them seem one dimensional. There's nothing wrong with a storyline that makes the audience think if it's done well. That said I do agree that the roles in a good feud at any given point should be clearly defined, and that, if they change it shouldn't be erratically and should serve some sort of purpose.
So far I think this is the best solution offered. It doesn't even have to be a set number, just oh say, a min of three.

The reason there were more rps for SW ppvs was because at times the restrictions on some people were lifted for their matches. For example normally we had a two rp limit but for Hostile Takeover the Five Man Massacre had no limit. Otherwise the only difference between shows and Pay-Per-Views was that PPVs had more gimmick matches.
I agree with Ryan, there have been times when I've had to bail out on Friday but most of the time I can get a match up in an hour and there have been times where I've written three matches in one day. So don't feel as if you have to claim, especially if you can't even write on the day of the show. Because there are people, such as myself, who would enjoy writing more anyway, and who can do it in a timely manner.
Also, I have been guilty of wanting to have a random huge gimmicky match with in five minutes before. Ryan told me the same thing he told you all and now I've started learning how to actually build up a fued. Few good fueds in wrestling are only one or two PPVs long. Undertaker versus Edge was built up for well over a year and had phenominal matches through out. Chris Jericho and Rey Mysterio's fued only lasted three Pay-Per-Views and look how great it was. Judgement Day, Extreme Rules, and The Bash. Further more in that fued only Extreme Rules (because of the PPV) had any special rules. So, the idea that you want to build up a huge gimmicky match that spans across only one PPV is retarded. Can't build up a fued in two or three shows? Fine, just build it up in two or three Pay-Per-Views instead.

I brought up the topic because I was partially thinking what Ryan had the guts to say.
If the staff can't get the PPVs up on time and end up leaving us with a week of nothing, maybe they should cut back on the PPVs until they can catch back up. It makes more sense to me that if you have to cut bck on something, it might should first be the PPVs, not the regular weekly card.

I don't like having a set number of Mayhems between PPVs, as that could completely throw off our PPV schedule and wind up forcing us to drop a PPV by the end of the year.
I'll support what Duke said - when I craft a feud with Duke, I look at each PPV as a "turning point" in the typical multi-act structure of stories. The first one is like the "inciting incident", the second one is going to escalate the feud even further and force some character change out of the people involved, and the third one is going to be the climax. Or whatever. If it's more than three PPVs, I just add a few more twists on character depth and motivation.
The Mayhems in-between those PPVs aren't supposed to be epic buildups IMO - they're supposed to reinforce what you've established with the feud already.

There is a solution to prevent cards from being announced later (and thus a tighter RP schedule) and get results up on time, every time. However, this isn't a 'good' solution, and may not appeal to many.
In another fed I was in, when matches would be late... the match was simply posted as this:
"Fiend wins via disqualification."
the match would be later filled in when it was sent in by the writer so that the show could still continue and the results/next card wouldn't be late. Personally, I didn't mind it at all. Wasn't great, but at least I didn't have to wait another day or two to find out what happened and we could get the next show going. However CPW does have a few more angles involved, so things might not be as smooth. And, once, I never got the match submitted so it kind of sucked that time. Other than that, I was fine. It takes away a little from the reward of seeing just how good you do in the match, but it can be better than nothing I guess.

That right there Anson is a good idea and makes a lot of sense, it might not be popular but at least then we can get on with the show the week after... The other Idea i would toss out there is that the match writers write there match's before friday and just leave the ending open, then if you can't write on friday all Joe and Ryan need to do is find somebody to finish it of rather than write the entire match. Using the same idea I told you the match writer could send the match in early with two possible endings, then all that needs to be done is the correct one being placed at the end.
Just my two cents
