So I was thinking of maybe doing a show of Mayhem where they officially announce the winners of the IC awards and it could be cool to have matches that correspond to the awards.
For Example: Laylon vs Nightmare Steffi vs Abaddon Jason Michaels and Ronnie Lester vs Summer Dreams Duke Jupiter vs Avarice (Since Duke vs Soli was the main event of CatB) and even though we don't have an IC award for Toms one of his characters should be put in a match as well. Maybe Kent Blaze vs Matt Starr?
We could add some more matches to the card so those without awards still get to show for the week. And we can plan ways for the matches to be used for everyone's individual storylines. I just think it would be really cool and should inspire people to really go all out in rps.
Though since it's an award show we could just show the list of everyone who got nominated for things and the matches could be show as impromptu upon the winners being announced.
What do you guys think?

Ultimately it's up to Ryan and Joe since, well, who else is going to really contribute to getting this done?

Ultimately it's up to Ryan and Joe since, well, who else is going to really contribute to getting this done? Not like I write weekly when I can. On time. Sometimes up to half the show or more if needing to fill in for one of the other two. Nope. That doesn't sound right. But my opinion on the matter clearly means nothing. I will remember this if you ever go to write and then need to drop. You'll think I forgot, but I will not.

Yes, I know you write when you can Gina, and in much more frequency than myself or Cam or Jet or whoever. But when it comes down to who is 100% guaranteed there every single week... it's Ryan and Joe. And when it comes to figuring what will work fundamentally without messing anything up, it's pretty much Ryan. More or less.

Just because I don't necessarily need to write every week doesn't mean I'm not there every week. I filled in for Joe when he was on vacation. I filled in for Ryan when he couldn't be around. See, there's this common misconception that Ryan has to be this be all, end all..And that simply isn't true, and frankly causes problems. People will either just ask Ryan stuff, or to a much lesser extent, just me and Ryan, or just Joe and Ryan, leaving somebody that is here each week completely in the dark. The former is especially a problem because..Sometimes Ryan can't be around because of the weather, or something else came up..And then suddenly the people writing, Joe and I, have absolutely no idea what's going on with anything because all information went to Ryan and Ryan alone. And sometimes, it's the opposite. Maybe somebody told Joe or me something, and Ryan didn't know, so he planned something else that conflicts. Ryan can't, doesn't, nor do I think he wants to decide everything all the time. Yet people tend to forget that there's three of us that are here pretty much guaranteed, and if you're only asking or telling one person something, there ends up being a lot of "So, did ____ tell you ____?" "Oh, no they didn't. But ___ said ____."

Ok...
1)Anson.. dude, stop digging. The hole's just gettin' bigger and there probably is no way to win this one without just tossin' the shovel and givin' it up.
2)The topic at hand, would this be a good idea for a show? I didn't respond because I didn't wanna be a buzzkill... again.
This is one of those ideas that sounds great until you realize several things.
A)The awards would be distracting from whatever else you're doing on that show, possibly overly so.
B)The awards would mean extra writing for a staff that is more and more typically all of three people, none of whom really consider the awards a priority in the grand scheme of things.
C)If you did the show so that the winners caused the matches to be announced as the show happened, Rping would impacted negatively since you couldn't mention your match at the show at all. How could you? As far as you know, you don't have one and if you're going to have such cool matches as Anson vs Duke, or a re-match of Laylon vs Nightmare... you want them to be able to go at it full bore, not just have the matches thrown out willy nilly. It'd render those matches basically meaningless.
D)The matches themselves are not all feasible. You'd want to have Steffi vs Abaddon as it won feud of the year, however, since they are currently engaged in ppv main events, you wouldn't just give that match away on a regular show. Anson vs Duke would not work as currently constructed as Avarice and Duke are both currently heels. What are they gonna do, play who can be the biggest asshole? Heel vs Heel with no face as the third party sucks. Now, if that were Solidus coming out of retirement for the night, that would be different, except that bringing Solidus out of retirement shouldn't be a one night deal for a throwaway awards show. That should be a big fucking deal that happens as a real storyline.

Yeah, Gina's around every week. Actually, she's pretty much the only person we have that's guaranteed to judge every week. It's pretty much like she said, though. She doesn't necessarily write every week, but in regards to actually being around...she's probably around even more than Ryan is, in regards to actually...being online/available.
As for the idea itself, I guess I'm in between what Ryan said and actually liking the idea. In theory, it is a solid idea. It could make for an interesting and fun show. Now, the card as proposed in the first post of the topic has the issues that were mentioned in Ryan's post. The card could probably be altered in a way that would allow it to work, and if one can be decided on, I'd have no problem with this idea. Though, in the same sense...I'd only recommend it on either a short week where we wouldn't normally have a card, or at a time when it wouldn't affect the build up towards an upcoming pay-per-view.
It's a good idea in theory, as proposed in the first post of the topic...it probably wouldn't work. Though that isn't to say that it couldn't be tweaked to the point that it would work.

That should be a big fucking deal that happens as a real storyline. See this is why I wanted you to comment. I said the matches could be announced at the show but it's an idea we can mold. We could always have CPW send out a memo of the winners and then set up the matches accordingly. I only mentioned Avarice bc it was one of Anson's characters. We could always sub in a different one and if Abaddon vs Steffi outright would throw stuff off why not set up a tag team match. (I know how much you love to do those.) We could have Abaddon and Duke vs Steffi and Johnny R, or something that would work. I'm not saying we have to use all the matches I put down, I just suggested them as examples of what the card might look like. Though Nightmare vs Laylon really needs to happen. As far as writing goes, I'd be willing to fly solo on this one if you wanted me too. Y'all just tell me how the matches need to go for storylines and what not and who wins and I could write it all. Not to sound cocky but If I wrote the whole thing it'd probably end up being done on time. Finally I know it could be some what distracting from the rest of the show and that's why I said we could tweak the matches to suit each person's individual feuds and we could still have people who didn't win on the show. Don't just tell me it won't work try to think of how we can make it work.
