Stephen and Ryan Ashworth, Ripper, have already had their work out. They have already done all them media events they have scheduled, which, being a newer tag team, is not a lot. And now the two brothers are in Houston's Hermann Park, taking in the sites, trying to up their step count for the day.
The tow manage to capture a picture of themselves in front of the Sam Houston Memorial and then decide to take a break from their walk.
Stephen: “Once again, ladies and gentlemen, we are back in “the Lone Star State” for another Pure Mayhem. And I for one am actually pretty happy about that, because it is a pain in the ass to find decent barbecue on Cape Cod. I can get ribs, sure, but we don't have a lot of barbecue places. Although, there is the Doggz n Hoggz in Falmouth, but that's about it for straight barbecue. But here? So much barbecue. And I am not saying that like I am a foodie. I am not a classy guy when it comes to food, but what is the point of traveling if we do not sample the local cuisine?”
Ryan:” We should really focus on the task at hand, but that statement is not untrue.”
Stephen: “So we are back in Texas, this time in the great city of Houston, for Pure Mayhem, and neither of us are facing Archangel Michael.”
Ryan: “That was an odd few weeks. Not entirely sure what we did to get him to want us in matches, but apparently we did something. These things happen I guess. And really, it did work out well for us.”
Stephen looks at his brother with a confused look on his face.
Stephen: “How did you even get up the top that fast?”
Ryanm shrugs.
Ryan: “I literally have no idea. But I think it well for me.”
Stehpen nods in agreeement.
Stephen: “Oh it did.”
Ryan turns to the camera.
Ryan: “But here we are and this week, I am taking on Duke Jupiter for the first time in a one-on-one match. And Duke, you had to know this watch was going to happen sooner or later. You and Ava retained the Triple Crown Tag Team Championships at Super Brawl beating us and Divalicious in a triple threat match. And that's great. It was a big win for you and Ava in a career of big wins. But you had to know we would be back to try and get another shot at the titles eventually.”
“Odds are it would be either us or Divalicious getting the shot. We aren't sure where Sang Réal have been, and the Maritime Union is still missing. Sugar Rush hasn't teamed since they lost the titles, and Summer Dreams seems busy. I suppose an argument for Avery Wright and Slingshot Red getting a shot, and even doing a title versus title thing could be interesting, and I think there could be a a fair argument for that match to happen.”
Stephen: “I have never liked those matches.”
Ryan: “What?”
Stephen: “Those matches where it is tag team championships defend the titles against two singles championships, and their titles are on the line. Just never been a fan of the idea of the match. The few I have seen have not been bad matches, but just don't like the concept. Maybe because they always end with new tag team champions, do they get a bit predictable.”
Ryan: “That's fair. No one likes predictable.”
Stephen: “Very true.”
Ryan: “So, Duke Jupiter, lets seem how unpredictable I can be at Pure Mayhem.”
Stephen nods and interrupts.
Stephen: “Good segway.”
Ryan ignores his brothers interruption.
Ryan: “You are not wrong, Duke, I would love to pick up a win at Pure Mayhem and get us a shot at those Triple Crown Tag Team Championships. And it is great you ar not going on about how this is waste or time, or looking past me and going on about all the other things you could be doing instead of this match. So, either we've moved up a little in your opinion, or you really just want back into the ring. And you should. I mean, what else did you come back for? Now, maybe Ripper is not the team that takes your down and takes the titles from you. Or maybe we are. But that's a discussion for another day. Now is showing you are the world was I can do, and maybe get ourselves a shot at the titles.”
“I just need to be lucky once, Duke. Just once, and then everyone will be shocked as I just managed to beat one of the all time greats. I know I can beat you, Duke. I just need to prove it. I fully intend to make you regret your complacency, Duke. And I either do that beating you in the ring, or giving you far more of a fight than you thought you were getting. Either way, I'm going to give this my best shot, Duke. You may be complacent, but we are hungry. So, let's do this.”
The scene fades to black.
