The sweat pours out of every one of Frank's pores. His ripped physique, scarred and carved out from years of working hard and fighting glistens in the relentless Texas sunlight. He lines up a nail and hammers it in, then he repeats, again and again. As the repetition adds up into a meditative loop, Frank’s mind flashes back to last Pure Mayhem. He flashes back to dropping Audrey Carter on the chair with a powerslam. After a bit, he sets his hammer down and takes a long drink of water from a thermos before he wipes the sweat from his brow with a rag. He tosses the rag to the side before he looks into the camera.
Sure, there ain't a title on the line. There ain't a career on the line. It ain’t nothin’ but two damn people with somethin’ to prove at Damnation and a Day XXII… but I'll be dammed if this match don't feel like a big one to me.
I made my intentions clear, that is to beat Denni Summers. The person who took everything from the man who betrayed me, the man who ain't here for me to exact my revenge on today, Mr. Natural. My intentions are to show the world through defeating Denni that I am in fact still standin’ where Kendrick ain't.
Now, shit has gotten violent between Denni and I, these last few weeks and well… I gotta say, when I issued that challenge, I wasn't necessarily expectin’ that, but I'm OK with it.
Frank smiles.
I dig it. Now, I don’t hate Denni though, I ain't exactly sure how she feels about me. But I ain't afraid to take it there to chairs and bloody brawls, if I gotta. I'm willin’ to do what it takes to win and if that's what it takes, then so be it.
Frank shrugs his shoulders.
Once upon a time I had to shove the monster Disturbed and then champion Sockman Jones into a dumpster to reclaim the Xtreme Chaos Championship in a dumpster match. I had to battle three others in a Vs Tokyo match, I'm used to dirty jobs and like Mike Rowe, I always get the job done.
Denni, I hope you’re ready to show up this Sunday and give it your all, because I am definitely ready. Now, I ain’t here to talk shit, the truth is Denni… I respect you. Which is why I challenged you in the first place. If I was lookin’ to waste my damn time I would’ve stuck to beatin’ Victoria Travis over and over instead of lookin’ to make a splash by takin’ on one of the best there is, best there was, a best there ever will be. Now, that might feel like I’m tryin’ to butter her up, tryin’ to spoil her with flattery, but I ain’t. Denni is worthy of high praise, even if things don’t always go the best for her, sometimes shit happens. Sometimes you lose your Elimination title at Super Brawl, no big deal. We’ve all been there. In this business wins and losses come and go, but Denni has done enough to be a damn legend. She don’t need to add beatin’ me to her long list of accomplishments, but why not? It’s not like any of us need to do anythin’, you could do what I did after I took a leave these past few years and get a day job. But this business ain’t about need, it’s about desire, it’s about damn drive. Joe Summers don’t need to be headin’ into the Elimination Chamber, not after everythin’ he has done. He wants to. Same goes for Disturbed. They both are driven by an unendin’, unreletin’ desire to win, to keep climbin’ to the top only to be kicked down again. When all is said and done, Denni, Joe, Disturbed, Nightmare, hell… even Francisco Lopez have secured their status in the hall of fame even if they never wrestled another damn match in their lives.
But it ain’t like that for them and it ain’t like that for me. None of us are ready to give up on the dream floatin’ around inside our heads.
We gonna keep climbin’ that ladder, no matter how many times we get knocked off the top rung. Now, I fell pretty damn hard the last time I got knocked down. To be honest, I wasn’t startin’ from no top, bein’ Mr. Natural’s enforcer and all… but that’s beside the point. I’m here now and I’m lookin’ to start climbin’ again. So Denni, I ain’t tryin’ to use you as no damn steppin’ stone. Don’t take it like that. Take it like this, the way I see it is… there ain’t no gettin’ to the top without goin’ through Denielle Summers first and that’s what I intend to do.
Now, that I’ve set the stakes as high I can and I’ve laid out my plans, I run the risk of you spoilin’ ‘em. I run the risk of this all blowin’ up in my face in a spectacular fashion. A normal person might be nervous goin’ to the AT&T Stadium for Damnation and a Day XXII and steppin’ into the ring opposite a legend like Denni Summers, but I ain’t ordinary…
Sure it's a big match. Big deal.
I’M MIGHTY FRANK!
Frank turns away and picks up his hammer and gets back to work after his short break.
