Victoria walks away from her car in the parking area of the AT&T Stadium, pulling her suitcase behind her.
“Spreading lies and rumors, Harper? That's so unbecoming of you, and not very heroic.”
She smiles. That smile fades as she starts to sound angry.
“A Travis does NOT beg. A Travis takes. You think I would honestly crawl into Brian Klesko's office and beg for a title match? Does that honestly sound like me? Does it? Francisco Lopez, definitely. But that is not me. I don't beg, Harper. If you think I truly traded a favor for this match, you are wrong, because you would know if I did. A Travis does not sell out. We buy in.”
“If I wanted an easy kill and a guaranteed championship, Harper, I'd have gone in and asked for a chance to rip Daisy Jones' arm off and take the Elimination Championship, or I'd have tried to be one of the six people in the Elimination Chamber as the Xtreme Chaos Championship is the only title I have any respect for. If I wanted your attention, if I wanted another match with you, Harper, I would have done something horrible to you or Avery or a member of your family, like hitting Avery's niece and sister with a truck, or set someone on fire.”
“You and I were done, Harper. You and I were finished. I have EVERY single intention of walking away from you for awhile after Super Brawl. I had every intention of leaving you alone, of waiting for the perfect moment to make your life a living hell. We were done. I had accepted that. I had recognized that. But, like I said, someone else had different plans because, and clearly you do not want to admit it, they realized that the only reason anyone cares about you, or that title you are so proud of was me. So, they decided to make this happen, and I guess they felt bad for Matt Stevens, because he is just so goddamned pathetic and worthless, that they had to throw him a bone.”
“I was more than willing to walk away, Harper. I was. And everyone is acting like “Oh, Victoria, you and Slingshot Red had three great matches, why are you and here wrestling again?” Like everyone expected me to see this match, get the contract and be like “Well I'm not doing this match.” You know why my name is on that contract ofr this match, Harper? Do you? Did I beat that goddamned stupid not to know?”
“It is something this title-obsessed roster lacks, Harper, and that is pride. I may not give a damn about any of the titles here, except the Xtreme Chaos Championship, because is actually worth something, but my father taught me you do not turn down matches, you go out to that ring each and every night and you wrestle. It doesn't matter if you are sick, hurt, exhausted, or you know beyond a shadow f a doubt that the match is going to suck because you are going to have to carry the 200 pound piece of crap who does not belong in the goddamned ring in the first place, whatever, you get your ass up, get in you gear and get the hell down to the ring. It is pride, Harper It is caring more about the quality of the match you have than caring about some piece of leather and gold plated tin.”
“So what? I was supposed to tear up the contract? I was supposed to go into Klesko's office and refuse to take this match and the pay day? Why, Harper, when you and I both know the greatest matches of our careers have been when we have faced each other? And yes, we have the added challenge of the 217 pounds of absolutely worthless, washed up, pathetic has been legend that is Matt Stevens, but I take that as a challenge. And honestly, he is not even a factor in this match.”
“But, Harper, if you truly think you have no reason to be afraid of me, of having no reason to fear what I can truly do, then you know me even less than you think you know me.”
“You are never going to be rid of me. I have told you time and time again, every hero needs a villain, and I am yours whether of not you like it. And I want you to do on to bigger and better things, because you are the only one holding you back. I am the one actually making you mean anything. So, we will finish, apparently, what we both thought was done at Super Brawl, and sooner or later, you and I will meet again at a time of my choosing. And if you though what I had done before was bad, wait until the next time I decide to make you relevant.”
Victoria laughs as the scene fades to black.
(Yes, I know this doesn't count, but seemed appropriate.)
