"So, Amy Zing Xtra is now working with Sugar Rush Lite..."
Even if I wanted to argue with her, I really couldn't. And it's not like I wanted to, anyway. After all, she wasn't really wrong. Normally I'd be against belittling people so simply like she was by referring to Divalicious as "Sugar Rush Lite," but honestly, with what they'd been pulling against us, recently, well... I was finding it tougher and tougher to care. As for Victoria, well... I knew first hand how similar the rhetoric they used against me was. How they both tried to make me feel insignificant, how they both called me a little girl running around in a cape and playing pretend. It certainly hadn't been lost on me how often Victoria seemed to just be repeating things Amy had already said, especially when it came to me and Avery, or Julia... So, yeah, I get it. It's the same beverage in a different bottle, they just slapped a new label on it. Amy Zing Xtra, now with more childish rage!
"They could call themselves 'The Unoriginals.'"
Avery smirked, seeming a bit surprised that I was actually playing along. Again, though... In this case, I didn't feel bad about it. Not anymore, anyway.
"Damn, Harps, look at you! I love it! Maybe we can talk to that Jeremy guy in production, get him to make a graphic for them and everything."
Maybe I was just tired of it all, I don't know. I still wanted to be that hopeful girl that thought everything could turn out alright if you just fought hard and did the right thing, but now I just felt kinda... Worn down, I guess. It was clear that Victoria Travis was never going to leave us alone, she was never going to stop trying to ruin our lives and rip away any little happiness we may feel. And with people like Divalicious seeming so willing to step up to assist her, well... I was just over it.
"So how do you say we handle this?"
"Wait, you're actually asking me first, fully knowing that my answer will be some variation of 'Stomp their faces into the ground?'"
She seemed caught off guard, but, look... She's probably been right this whole time. We kept trying my approach, and it never worked. So, now, I might as well let her take the wheel, right?
"Hey, at this point, if you say stomp, I'm only going to ask how hard."
Avery sniffled, wiping away a nonexistent tear in a mock display of emotion.
"I've been waiting for this day for so, so long..."
I rolled my eyes, not wanting to give her too much satisfaction.
"I'm just saying... We've done it my way, and it hasn't really gotten us anywhere. She keeps coming back, and now she's bringing more people with her. Well, this time, Julia's here to even things out, so this is as good of a chance as any. We've gotta fight back, and I mean really fight back, because otherwise they're just going to keep running all over us."
Avery nodded, the joking tone dropping from her voice as she spoke.
"Then I say we jump first. Look, we both know they're not going to just let this be a normal match. They're going to look for any advantage they can get, and they're going to try to turn this into a brawl at the first chance they get. Well, I say we don't give them the chance. We jump first. We give them the war they want. Why let them strike first? For once, just forget the rules... We both know they won't be following them, anyway... And let's see if Divalicious are really ready for the kind of fight Victoria clearly wants this to be."
Any other time, I would have said no. Any other time, I would have insisted on wrestling the match, how it's meant to be. This time, though? This time...
"Alright. Let's do it."
This was a chance to really fight back, and to not let Victoria control the pace, or the terms. We had to take that chance, before this went any further. And with Julia having our backs, well... I felt pretty good about our chances, for once. Maybe it was time to see how much The Unoriginals actually wanted this fight.
