As the scene opens backstage in Nissan Stadium, in Nashville Tennessee, where Hardcore Heaven will be taking place the next day, Claira Charisma can be seen standing in front of the camera with a microphone in hand. Off to her side stands the newly returned Julia Davenport, who had yet to truly speak to CPW audiences since her return.
"Fans, I'm standing here with Julia Davenport, who has been making her presence felt in recent weeks by coming to the aid of Slingshot Red and Avery Wright. Julia, you made a rather shocking return here just a few weeks ago. Do you have anything to say about why you've chosen to come back now, of all times?"
Julia hesitates for a moment, then shrugs her shoulders.
"Look, Claira, I'm going to keep this simple. I don't exactly have a lot of friends around here, that's certainly no secret. Harper and Avery, though... They're my friends. Not because they wanted something from me, not because they thought I could do something for them, but because they actually decided to get to know me, and they ended up liking me for me. That's still a strange concept to me, I admit, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't feel good. I've been making some slow headway in the lockerroom, it's a work in progress... But through it all, they've had my back. They've believed in me, and they've believed in the person they thought I could be. So when Victoria Travis keeps coming at them, over and over again, I notice. Now, normally, I'm confident in letting them fight their own battles. That's what they want, they usually ask me not to get involved. Once again, though, Victoria has found some saps to buy what she's selling, and they've been playing the numbers game. So, long story short, I'm here to even the odds. Beyond that, well... That's for another time."
"Well, we've all noticed that you've certainly been effective in evening the odds out, lately! When you first returned, you didn't end up just helping Slingshot Red and Avery Wright, however, you assisted Joe Summers, as well. Now, I know the two of you don't exactly have a warm history, but I know Joe, and I know he's certainly appreciative of things like that. You say you've been trying to make some headway with making amends with certain people in the lockerroom... Has Joe been one of those people? How are things there, especially considering the two of you have both contributed to the training of Avery Wright?"
Julia nods slowly, laughing uneasily.
"Joe? Well, Joe... Still doesn't like me very much, that's no secret. And who can blame him? But there's more of a... Mutual respect, there, I guess you could say. Denni and I have spoken on several occasions, we've hashed a few things out, so that's gone a long way, but otherwise... Let's just say Joe and I respect each other's space, and we stay out of each other's way. Would I like to bury the hatchet completely? Of course, absolutely. Again, though, I'm the only one to blame for the problems, in the first place, so I'm the one that has to work at this. And trust me, I am. I've still got a lot to do to prove to a lot of people that I'm not the same person I was before, and I'm ready to work at that for as long as it takes. The people that have chosen to support me, in the meantime... Harper, Avery, the fans who decided they saw something they liked in me that I, myself, didn't even realize was there... They mean the world to me, truly. So I'm going to keep working to prove that they haven't made a mistake, and I'm going to keep working to grow that support."
Claira smiles, nodding excitedly.
"You can certainly count me among that support! With Hardcore Heaven just a day away, though, is there anything else you'd like to say, heading into this match? You certainly have a history with Victoria Travis, and she has had a lot to say about you. Is there anything you'd like to say back?"
"Honestly, I have a lot to say. Of course I do. Like I said before, though... That's for another time. There will be a time and a place for all of that, where I'll hold nothing back... But for right now, I'd rather let my actions speak louder than my words. If Victoria Travis and Divalicious want to run their mouths, let them. Harper, Avery, and I are focused on the match ahead of us, and showing that people like them can't just push around anybody they feel like. All I'll say is that I'm back, really back. This isn't some kind of one and done thing. So there will be plenty of time to talk, and there will be plenty of time to deal with all of the unfinished business that's still left over. Right now, though... What I said last time is even more true today. This isn't about me, right now. I'm not the present, and I'm certainly not the future. People like Harper and Avery... They are. And whatever I have to do to make sure they get to see that future, and live up to their potential, well... I'll do it. It's as simple as that, really."
Claira nods again, turning to the camera.
"Well, there you have it! Actions do speak louder than words, and if all of you want to see what those actions become, make sure you tune in to Hardcore Heaven live, where you'll see that and so much more! For now, though, don't go anywhere, because right after this, we're heading to Liam O'Hare for another edition of... 'That's Epic.' Ugh. Audible groan. ...That wasn't the line, I just wanted to make my disgust known."
Claira goes silent for a moment, awkwardly clearing her throat, then turns back to Julia.
"Anyway, Julia, thank you again for your time! I think we're all looking forward to seeing you truly return to the ring, especially since you're here to stay! Of course, if there's one person who certainly is not thrilled about that, it's Victoria Travis..."
"Hey, if Victoria has a problem with that, and she wants to try do something about it?"
Julia goes silent for a moment, stepping closer to the camera and looking directly into it.
"I certainly won't be hard to find."
She winks, before stepping away and walking off as the scene comes to a close.
